I just tuned my DK2M to E Flat to play along with some Malmsteen stuff (This ended in mass fail on my part :D ) and am really liking it.

What tunings do you guys use on your axe/s?

Used to tune down a half step but now I play in standard tuning all the time. I've never used dropped D etc.

I use the standard tuning. but then, some backing tracks require a "Eb"

I basically use standard most of the time, but I'll often tune down if I want to achieve a certain sound, I think SRV used standard but tuned down half a step or something, I love that bluesy sound. A lot of people use drop D, personally I hate it. that's just me though.

Standard E

E standard, unless I want a different low droning note.

B) I did'nt realize they still used standard outside of country.Personally i use e flat for most stuff as it does add a lower bass tone.For the hard stuff i tune down a whole step.It's good for drone metal and heavy crunch chording.Not very good at sonic representation as all high frequencies are to flat.
