Here's a guy demoing the Jason Becker Pro Tone pedal. Any opinions on this guys?

Not particularly great sound in my opinion....but that could just be the recording. As it is it sounds really thin with little sustain.

I know I probably couldn't do any better but I thought the guy's timing was not too hot on that becker tune - even just on the simple bits.

I'm not convinced on it either. I'm sure you could tinker with it though. Too much treble for me. Liking that guitar but not so keen on the fretmarkers.

If it weren't for the fret markers that guitar would be pretty hot imo.

A friend of mine in NC has one of the Jason Becker prototype guitars made by Jackson. It has the school-block numbers on the maple/maple neck etc.

Yeah one of those came up on ebay last year. I had a long hard think about it. Turned out that the guy selling it only lived about 30 miles from me. Guitar sold for £1400 I think but not to me unfortunately.

It doesn't actually sound like Jason Becker pedal.

I think I'll rather get a Boss Super-overdrive than get that pedal.

But I bet if Jason could still play, he would've made the pedal sound like a phenomenon.

No he wouldn't have made it just a phenomenon, he would make a phenomenon sound like a regular pedal. I firmly believe that if I had a 1/10 of that guys talent i would be the best guitarist on earth.

Jason Becker was actually paralyzed by a roundhouse kick delivered by Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris was jealous of Jason because Jason was better than him at something.
