Title: Need advice on some st00f

Me and my freind do written video game reviews on our website, we just started a few weeks ago, had some trouble over wether or not to continue but decided to in the end. Thing is my freind takes ages to get one done. I know it's not through lack of time because we are both in the gap between leaving school and going to college and niether of us ever goes out anywhere.
I would just ask him to see if he can speed up the pace a bit but he has a habit of just saying 'oh fu** it' and not bothering with something if he feels that he can't do it or if he feels pressure. So i need advice on how i can ask him to be a bit quicker but without putting pressure on him because i suck at social stuff.

Is this writing thing serious (like, monetary gain serious), or just a writing outlet for fun? If it's not serious, I can't imagine any reason for it to matter how fast or slow he writes reviews OTHER than pressure. On the other hand, if there is something to be gained from your reviews, his lack of contribution should lead to a lack of gain (like, a per-review reward system), if you really want him to start working.
It sounds like this is just a for fun thing, in which case I'm not sure if you can convince your friend of much, since there's no motivation to work harder, other than pressure. You could try mentioning how the site was supposed to be an equal partnership deal, and he isn't participating equally in your opinion, but if his convictions are strong enough, you probably won't get far. He'll have bigger things to deal with anyway, so in that case, I don't suggest pursuing the matter anymore (unless, for some reason, equal partnership really does matter to you).

If you want to avoid the more stringent approach i.e a cattle prod I'm afraid you're just gonna have to mention it to him. Being diplomatic always pays dividends so voice your concerns in a friendly manner but try and get an answer from him so you at least know where you stand. He sounds like he is a wizard at procrastination so don't let him put off the matter at hand.

It's a for fun thing. Originally i was going to do it on my own but i asked if he wanted in so that if the site ever gets popular having someone to take turns with writing reviews would ease some pressure off me.
He's not so much a wizard at procrastination, he's more of a wizard at saying yes to something (and meaning it) but then changing his mind without telling you he has and will continue to pretend he hasn't changed his mind. :P
Even though it's for fun there's still a tiny part of me that hopes maybe one day the site will get big enough that we can begin earning money off it. Unlikely lol but i can still dream.

Things seem much better with this now actually. We checked the site today to find we had been getting more and more hits on our site and he has already written another review and made the appearance of the site much better.
