Title: Yngwie could still be God?

I know the old Yingster has come in for a a lot flak recently but I was watching this and was still very impressed by his playing. Check out how clean he is on the runs here. For me that still keeps him up near the top of the tree. He was never one for large effects racks but his tone here still rocks. He needs to play some different scales just and get some soldering done to his guitar though methinks. ;)

I'm sure if Yngwie practiced with some new scales and put them into his songs and stopped using the (EXACT) same licks in his songs and improvs he would be at the head of all the players out there right now.

EDIT: i felt like listening to Yngwie after this and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbHc5i4O2tc&NR=1

I'm wondering, what is the name of the classical bit right at the start? The bit before he goes into the Adagio. I'm sure it's a Paganini piece.

Yngwie is still an excellent guitarist....but as a composer his abilities have come to a halt. He hasn't really done anything new since he came out. Alchemy was, in my opinion, his last interesting record...but...sadly...we'd heard it all before for the most part.

By the way Steve, I believe that is the first movement from Caprice No. 4 in that live version of FBTS you posted.

I had a " No Parole from Rock and Roll " shirt back in high school with " Yngwie is God " on the back...I had to laugh when I saw the post title. Odyssey is the last album I have from him , and I may not have missed alot from him , lol. He will always be great to me.

Know where i can get tabs for it?

I can't find 'em anywhere, even on Ultimate Guitar.

Here you are mate. Just improv some diminished yngwie crap at the end and break into the Adagio in G minor...and then follow up with some FBTS shredding

I've still got a lot of respect for the Yngster. In fact its other people ripping off his style rather than the fact that his style hasn't changed that bugs me.

This guy is the biggest Yngwie rip off i've heard.

That guy is like a hard rock equivalent of an Elvis impersonator. He can play the guitar pretty good though I have to admit.
