Title: How do you get the same "power" in the high notes?
Orzandotl - February 5, 2009 12:44 PM (GMT)
I cannot get a powerful sound at the highnotes( end of the fretboard-ish
)
In the low notes near the nut, the gain sounds perfect, but when i play high notes, the picking sound is louder then the actual tone(and gain).
thanks.

The answer is simple: crank your amp :P

That's strange alright. Try raising your pups towards your strings.

I think that would be an amp issue, I really think it is the most important piece of gear for a guitarist.

Other than a guitar, obviously. ;)

I run a thing through my amp and speakers (hi fi) called a split crossover. It is designed to make sure that the right frequencies go to the right speakers i.e high frequencies will go to the tweeters and low frequency bassier tones will be directed to the woofers. If you could run this sort of thing through your guitar amp (and I have before) it can be beneficial to the sort of problem you are talking about here ORZ. It sounds like your amp may have trouble processing the higher frequency tones through your speakers. If your amp is a single speaker job then it is not applicable to have a spilt crossover running.

Same thing happens to me when I play with distortion. If the problem isn't necessarily your amp, you could consider is getting one of those EQ pedals/preamps (if money and/or an outlet is not an issue) and slide the EQ up in the high end's favor.
