Vote for your top rock band here guys. I would have tried to include all the main players but poll choices are limited to 15 so apologies if I have left any of the biggies out. Anyway who in this list gets your vote and why?
Mine goes to AC/DC. I owned my first AC/DC album at age 10 and still totally love the band. Angus was the first guitarist I got into in a big way, he writes simple but very effective riffs.

Iron Maiden for me, just because I like them more than sabbath. No dening that Sabbath was an 80s metal band in the late 60s and soley changed metal, but I just prefer Maiden lol.

Scorpions because they made so much great music over the years and have a wide variety of sounds. I like their 70's sound best but also like thier 80's sound and their new album isn't bad. Also I like Ozzy with Randy Rhoads, Pink Floyd, and early Metallica a lot.

What's up with it is that there is a limit of 15 that you can vote for in polls on this site. Now if I wanted to keep everybody happy i.e put everybody's favourite band in the poll then there would be thousands upon thousands of bands in the poll. See my original post!!

Guns 'n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction - If there was a list of 20 cd you must own no matter what genre you love i'd have this on it. This was like the soundtrack for 2 years of my life and at the time it was so different. Not a bad song on it anywhere!
But man this is a tough poll cause AC/DC n Zep n Floyd are all so great! No fair I say daemon :)

Led Zeppelin, I think; variety of songs, cool rock hits, a great guitarist and drummer... They were also related to the beginning of heavy metal.
Anyway, the singer pissed me off a bit when I first heard him in a live album. LZ songs are hard to sing, he didn't sing the same way in live performances.
