Description: right now or recently
return of the shredi - January 2, 2009 11:57 PM (GMT)
i listen to stuff all the time.i have a pretty big cd and cassette collection.i have slimmed it down the last couple of yrs.
my tastes are quite wide too.as long as its metal.or rock etc.
i don't listen to pop.i didn't even listen to anything commercial for a long time.i played and lived death metal/grindcore.
but i grew up in the 80s with all the cool stuff plus the less well known stuff that got me into guitar too.
now i listen to alot of instrumental music.
this thread isn't for a rant like mine just list the music you've listened to.
that day or that week.
here goes

It may need to be changed ? I can do that for a nominal fee , lol.
I always enjoyed listening to " Out of the Sun " ...I have not replaced the cassette with cd yet...i need to buy it I guess.
Now playing..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmozVRLZfdg&feature=relatedJohn Arch ( vocals ) is just the best...and a great guy ( from reading his interviews and such ). His lyrics / phrasing within a song are as good as it gets. The rest of the band...well.
Flame is burning center of a fountain yearning, waters
Spring eternal, spiritual water physical fire
Above center is sky, cold neverness
Just vastness filled with stars upon stars
In the four corners of life are the golden mirrors
Reflecting what you are and what you are to be
In the first is a young boy white dove in
His hand, in the second is a warrior in armor
In the third is the old man gold watch
In his hand fourth and last
No reflection at all
or this one...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mzoVJRUJ5I&feature=relatedOld man time, Wisdom and Rhyme
Seeker of reason, reaper of time
Born to a spell he walks the beaten path
To hell, rusty shackles of time burden his mind
Once on his side time turns to defy.
In a flash of the lightning he's come and gone.
The clock strikes the hours, he climbs to the belfry
As he's done a thousand hours before.

Yup. Michael Romeo is one of the most talented shredders nowadays, and Symphony X is also one of the most talented bands (and one of my favorite bands). Although the string skip tapping part in Sea of Lies is a tad overrated if you ask me. It's rather long.
Although top tier, I prefer many songs by Symphony X and Michael Romeo over Sea of Lies.

hey, check out the original version of magdelene.
www.myspace/hybridice
local pa band that sold the song to boston.
guitar player-rusty was even jamming with the band after original singer died.haven't heard any news as to whether he was gonna officially join the band or not.
hybrid ice has been around for yrs.around here they have a great rep.awesome vocals.good musicians.play occasionally now.but during 80s and 90s were very popular and a big draw.
rusty and the bassist have a side band called SKY HIGH.my band played our 1st gig opening for them 4 yrs ago.
my singer actually was onstage singing magdelene with them.
nother cool band is HARPO.THEY HAVE A MYSPACE TOO.
