Thought I'd add this to the forum that needs activity. I don't want to blend this forum with Other Music at it will go off the page and be hard to find. Thought I'd start it off with Piano shred. :D

I guess that all the music mentioned so far has to be 10/10. I love Sibelius so I definately have to give another 10/10 Acousolysis. I would love to go to Finland to find out about the country and culture that inspired such powerful music

My contribution is Vaughan Williams' Tallis Fantasia.

Tallis Fantasia

Beautiful music in that piece HK. First time I'd heard it. 10/10

Miserere by Allegri
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x71jgMx0Mxc

There's an interesting story behind this piece. The Vatican used to have the music for this under lock and key as it was considered diabolique in sound I think. It was only ever performed on special and very few occasions at that but Mozart heard one of the performances as a child and was able to write out the music from memory.

neoshredder - December 20, 2008 01:00 AM (GMT)
The 10/10 streak ends here. Not a fan of choir sounding classical music. I prefer Symphonies much more. 7/10 to be fair though.

The 24th caprice played on guitar was great ( quite a few posts up ) , but more left hand strength to get the true dynamics on this I'm afraid , but the " correctness " of this cannot be denied...amazing. If it hasn't been said before...Itzhak Perlman is the greatest violinist of at least our time ( and is who I reference anything to Paganini's ).

Yeah , the " dynamics " I was refering to ...it's an instance where hammer - on / pull - off requires more effort than picking each note ( listen to the violin versus guitar ). And there was no youtube when I had most of this worked out on bass guitar ( at least the cool parts ).

Your link means more to someone than it does to me ...very emotional and dynamic..powerful. Too much for a simple ac mechanic to appreciate...really ( no sarcasm ). These " orchestral " pieces with vocals are someones " lifes work " ( Mozart in this instance I guess ).

Foods here...gotta think quick...here

LOL..yeah , I guess that's what is meant by " Prodigy " , Ihtzak Perlman is just awesome.

Joey Taffola has a bit of " Rondo " in the song " Stalingrad " ( going on old memory here ) ...very cool.

I'm sure this is old news here on this forum , but when I learned this ( on bass guitar ) it was on a record ( vinal ) .. ( Alcatrazz " Live Sentence )

Last one was very nice.

Not really blown away with the trumpet piece so maybe a 6/10

I picked the next one for the song alone not the player (prefer Christopher Parkening) But his version on utube was sounding bad, but John Williams is no slouch :)

Not good for me to say, as usually I can't give an opinion on songs before hearing them through several times.

Here's arguably Edvard Grieg's most popular piece, "In the Hall of the Mountain King". I'll have to find a record of E.G. someday.
