Title: Rate The Song Above You

neoshredder - December 16, 2008 04:29 AM (GMT)
Thought this would be a good forum to make this game on. I'm sure we'll agree on a lot of stuff here but maybe learn some cool tunes. So next person rates from 1-10. Then puts up a new youtube video. I'll start.
Boston - Can'tcha Say http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJyzU4kC3gU

IbanezDaemon - December 16, 2008 09:25 AM (GMT)
Excellent idea! I'm gonna rate this song personally at 5/10. But if I do it in context to other bands of this genre I'd give it 8/10. Good track with a catchy chorus.

The song I have submitted is a lesser known Gary Moore instrumental called The Prophet.

A great song for sure, a solid 8/10, if not more. Moore sure made his guitar cry in that one.

Nice to hear bands that I've never heard, but that didn't really appeal to me. Had absolutely no affect on me, and I really disliked their vocals for some reason. 5/10

Let's give this thread a new direction again; Lykathea Aflame - Land Where Sympathy Is Air

Spastic Ink - A Wild Hare

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRF9NsC2D_U

I'm sorry about the speech over it, but I can't find an audio-only version of it. The video and speech make it easier to get the idea behind the song, though.

IbanezDaemon - December 19, 2008 07:40 PM (GMT)
Very good musicians. Pity about the speech over like you say but I'd give it 8.5/10 for the music.

Not my favourite band in the world, but they wrote some good rock songs. Can't give it more than a 6/10 but thats down to my personal taste rather than commenting on the quality of the song.

Anthrax - Caught in a Mosh

IbanezDaemon - December 22, 2008 01:10 PM (GMT)
Anthrax are a band I've never really listened to. Didn't really like the start, it sounded punky to me but the song grew on me as it progressed. Liked the energy of it and the guitar harmonies. 7/10.

That was a rather nice song, considering that I'm not a huge fan of Finnish artists. The lyrics were ordinary Finnish sorrow/crybaby-hero stuff, but the music was considerably better. 7/10

Atheist - An Incarnation's Dream

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYIabMvpoj0&feature=related

I have officially fallen in love with that intro.

Steve5513 - December 23, 2008 09:34 PM (GMT)
I thought the intro was great but i really wasn't expecting it to get heavy like that lol, i thought it was gonna be like a ballad or something. When it first got heavy it wasn't great imo but when the heavy part gets faster after the first 5 lines or so in the lyrics it gets a lot better.

8/10

Would've put it at 7 if not for that cool intro.

Now, i present to you a mind fuck. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MtjemoFXD4Q
