Description: Half step?

Do any of you guys employ the tuning used by Yngwie, Joe Stump, Chris Impelleteri etc where you tune down a half step? Do you always use this tuning or are you more happy at concert pitch?

I use Audacity to change the pitch of the song, because i dun wanna keep on tuning and changing, since i have one guitar....

i started using mine tuned down a half step when i was learning Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd, without remembering the guitar was tuned down, i started riffin out some neoclassical metal and it sounded great, so now for a lot of what i play, i tune down a half step

Ocasionally i tune down a half step but not very often and not for neo-classical. It's usually when i want to play some Slayer songs i tune down because they sound much better a half step down, and it also allows me to play along with their songs since they are a half step down.

I tune down (most often more than half a step), I am going to get another axe so I can have one in standard and one tuned down. I play a lot of progressive metal so.

I dont because of my two guitars at present and one being out of commision. Used to with my paul but i find it easyer to have one guitar in standard in case i jam.

I also play 7's so can get away with not tuning down. That said i think my main 6 will stay standard, i wouldnt mind getting another 6 to put into D standard of even CGC... and one day i probably will have a 7 in drop A....

but yeah... the short answer is No.
