Title: Songs using Phrygian Dominant

For those that don't know, the phrygian dominant is the 5th mode of the harmonic minor scale. It gives you a very Egyptian sounding to it. Lets say you are playing in the key of E minor. Playing E Harmonic minor over a B7, B5, or BMaj chord will give you that distinct of a Phrygian Dominant. B C D# E F# G A B are the notes as B is the root. I know a couple songs using this mode. Feel free to add more songs that you think use this mode.

Isn't the first half of Becker's Eleven Blue Egyptians in Phrygian dominant? I think it switches to the blues scale after that.

Yeah, the first half of Eleven Blue Egyptians is in A Phrygian Dominant.

PD is such an awesome sound. Joe Satriani uses it in C# for his "electric mosquito" solo in Surfing With the Alien to great effect. YM uses it all over the place, but his work with it on Little Savage and Trilogy really stands out. Vinnie Moore uses it in A for a "chorus" run in Daydream. John Petrucci (Dream Theater) uses it in B for Just Let Me Breathe. Even Mark Tremonti from Creed/Alter Bridge used it in D for "Faceless Man." It's everywhere in metal...and it rules! It's by far the most common mode of harmonic minor.

Yeah, I tend to overuse, maybe even abuse it way too much. I'm very fond of Friedman-esque, eastern scales too.
