Title: Stratovarius

One of my favorite bands. They produced some really good music in the 90's. Especially Episode and Visions. Here are a few of my favorites from them.
Stratovarius - Eternity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnH46jE5odo
Stratovarius - Black Diamond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn58-Nl9NYw&feature=related
Stratovarius - Speed of Light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYXeS_X2Dpc&feature=related

Great band! Timo Tolkki is a guitarist who deserves a bit more of the limelight I think. Timo Kotipelto has brought out some great solo material as well featuring a good few collaborations with Symphony X guitarist Michael Romeo. Very much in the Stratovarious vein but excellent nonetheless.

After Timo Tolkki's departure from Stratovarius, they hired Matias Kupiainen. He's a rising guitarist and is arguably the best Finnish guitarist.

Ha! Ha! I looked this guy up on youtube (Matias Kupiainen) playing a song called Hangover shred. Very good indeed! :)

If I remember correctly, the guy's been playing since he was 3 or so. No wonder he's good.

Three!!! God that is early. He still looks pretty young then again guys from that part of the world always seem to have these youthful babyfaces. Do you know what age he is?

Sorry, I have to correct myself; he picked up the guitar when he was four (like that wasn't early enough). He's now some 24 years old, and he studied classical music for 16 years.

I definitely know about "Black Diamond" from Stratovarius. I have the "Visions" CD that it comes off from.

Probably one of their absolute best songs.

Also, a song that sounds pretty much exactly just like "Black Diamond" is a song called "Flying Pyramids" from a Power Metal band from Germany called Magic Kingdom on their "Metallic Tragedy" CD.
