I don't listen to Death Metal either.

The only Black Metal band that I even remotely like at all is Craddle of Filth, and they are actually more Gothic Metal than Black Metal.

I'd say Cynic were more Jazz influenced Tech Death than Math, seeing as they and Atheist were sharing some of the same members etc..

I love Slayer, early Testament, Candlemass though they are doom I suppose, Chimaira. I listen to a lot of Necrophagist now. Their frontman and guitarist Muhammed Sucimez is a phenomonal player.
