Title: The Need For Speed
Description: Too many notes?

Do any of you guys think that players like Rusty Cooley, Michael Angelo Batio and Impelleteri are focusing too much on playing at warp speed all the time. Has their playing become too fast and are they missing the point? Or are you all for the maximum speed and shred factor in these obviously talented players repertoire?

If you've got it, why not flaunt it?
And since it's their music, it can really only be other people who miss the point to it.

I think they are great, but its as Rick said. It's their music how they do it, if its different so what?

Well I guess it depends on where they flaunt it and how they flaunt it. I mean if they play something musically compelling with speed awesome! If
it's a scale...well that's not too cool

Agreed. If it's done in context then go for it. I have most of these guys material and love their stuff.

I think that guys like Rusty Cooley and MAB are amazing guitarists, but I think if you play super-fast all of the time it looses it's effectivness.
Regardless of your personal taster though, no one can take away from these guys talent and dedication to their music.
