These guys kick ass in my opinion. They're bringing a way more technical aspect into modern music which is great in my opinion because I'm sure you guys are about as tired of the same 3 chord progression on every radio station now a days. I urge you to listen to this band and if the vocals arnt you're thing I'm sure you can look past that and appreciate the music. Plus these guys hail from Canada which is a plus in my book:D. Give these dudes a chance

I am noticing in the past couple years that technicality is starting to rise in the mainstream music. As music trend naturally happen in cycles as can be seen throughout history, I think this could lead to something ok. Bands like Protest the Hero, Human Abstract, and Between the Buried and Me... seem to be incorporating a pretty technical musical side, its like a mix of progressive metal and emo... it doesn't have a name yet but thats what it is. I am also think that these band could pave the way for possibly... if were lucky instrumental metal maybe having some fun in the future like it did in the 80s.
Although, I hate the vocals, I congradulate them for becoming as successful as they have with that kind of complex instrument work.

i also don't like the overall feel of the music, it just FEEELS crapy and emoy, and thats the best I can explain it.

I agree with that, they are definitely, no Dream Theater... but You have to admit its a big step for MTV and Much Music... w/e else those mainstream music stations are called... Maybe not though... because I think think the kids are listening to the music, at least most of them... they are just ignoring the instrumental technicality and listening to the simple emo side of it as with any other bands. I am interested in seeing what the future holds.

Ya I get where you guys are coming from, I personally hated the vocals when i first heard them but Roady's voice can only be appreciated with repeated listening(in my opinion) and i can't think of too many other singers who can switch from a manly falsetto to a crazy ass death growl at the flip of a switch. I think he has a great voice but its just not for everyone.
