Agreed. Images and Words is by far my favorite from Dream Theater. Metropolis Part 1 "The Miracle and the Sleeper" is an unbelievable track.

I LOVE Dream Theater. IMHO they are one of the most talented bands out there. It's kinda weird though that they've been around for sooo long, but never really caught on big. They are like the godfathers of prog-metal, but nobody really knows them outside of the genre.

I agree with you guys that "Images and Words" is still their best; I think Metropolis 2: Scenes from a Memory is almost as good.

They are incredible in concert, too. They play for so long that you just might pass out while watching... then when you regain consciousness, you find they are still frickin playing

hahaha yeah!

From another perspective, I always thought they did amazingly well for a progressive band... they where huge in the early 90s from Images and Words, outside of the genre. They had videos on the radio and TV a lot. They have got to be the biggest prog band metal and rock ever. Amazing band!

I love DT to bits, more so their latter albums...
But i wish people wouldnt assume they are the BE ALL END ALL of Prog metal.
It just bugs me when someone replies with 'oh you must like DT' when you say your into Prog.

Whatever... Systemic Chaos FTMFW
