As most already know but I'll put it up anyway, my top friends on myspace along with the playlist I have is a great way to learn this style.

Glad you like it. Yeah myspace has a lot of unknown bands and is pretty much the music encyclopedia with most bands wanting to get noticed there. It has a great musical search engine on finding what other bands are influenced by.

there are some hidden jems on the internet, then you get bands like doodiest

LOL!!!!!! They don't exactly look like they are about to Unleash The Fury! Especially the powerhouse drummer, good ol' Mikey Bloat. :P

Glad you enjoyed the site I made. I haven't visited it for awhile but I just added a whole of friends yesterday.

Excellent dude! Good to have you on board. You should be able to adapt to the guitar no probs after having been a bassist for so long. :)

Thanks for the HUGE list. It will grant me lots of new music, because sometimes I don't know where to find new good metal bands.
It seems it won't happen anymore...

Update: I got a new myspace with ONLY Neo-Classical Metal bands. It also comes with a playlist I used in the process of making sure all friends were neo-classical metal bands. Don't bother sending a request if you are just a fan. But really the best resource site imo out there.

I just don't know if it really fits here, but Emilie Autumn made some very strange things with her violin on the unlaced album. Very cool!! Kind of barock industrial metal^^
