Okay, I've owned both. Bought a PGM recently and sold it again within a week so I never even got a chance to post pics here, lol!!!. I used to own another PGM as well ages ago.
It depends if you are talking aesthetics or playability/sound here for me.
The Jem is the better looking guitar however I'm not too keen on the neck profiles Jems except for the 3 Jems that had the Wizard neck profile. There's not that much difference, 1mm at the nut but it feels different to me. I also do not like DiMarzio Evolution pickups which are on most of the Jems, too high gain for me. The only high gain DiMarzio pups are like are the Tone Zones.
The PGM has the Wizard neck profile and DiMarzio Paf pro pickups which I love. Probably my fave medium output pickup. They are were the tone is at for me, medium output pups + high gain amp.
If it were for looks my vote would go to the Jem but for playability and sound which is what counts the PGM gets my vote though I was never overly fond of those F 'holes' on the PGM models. ;)

You're right man, there's something about those Jem necks I can't get used to, they are thin but have a funny feel to them. I used to own a Jem7DBK which I think (I hope, lol!!) had Breeds in it. Quite liked those, definitley preferable to the noisy Evo's mate, I wanted to shoot those damn things at times, lol!!
I think Jems are overrated anyway. You're paying for the name imho. Those Ibanez J Customs I own simply wipe the floor with any any Jem I've ever played or owned. I'd be interested to hear your take on the Breeds and/or Tone Zones if you've tried them AC/DC??? Cheers!!

I have tried them, and I have a TZ in my SG. The TZ is has a more vintage feel if you know what i mean, but its a lot hotter. The TZ also has that feel like a new dodge challenger, it's trying to be the old one, but still is a new model. It also is a little muddy. The breed on the other hand, i find to be a more modern sounding pick up, it is a lot smoother, clean and crisp. I'm in the process of getting a Breed for my S.
