Released in 1988 Second Heat as the title loosely suggests was Racer X's second album. This album saw the introduction of another guitarist, Bruce Bouillet who was apparently a pupil of Paul Gilberts at G.I.T. Scott Travis also came in on drums.
As always I bought this album when it came out and I was looking forward to hearing the new guy Bruce Bouillet. He didn't disappoint. This guitar partnership is still the only one in the NeoClassical scene to date to rival the Becker/Friedman partnership on the Cacophony records but unfortunately like that partnership it was very short lived as Paul left to form Mr Big along with Billy Sheehan.
Racer X are one of my all time fave bands although we could do with having a bit more material from them. I love the Second Heat album so it's (predictably) a 10/10 from me. :D
