BUT CHECK OUT THAT AWESOME PLAYING!

He gives Steve Vai a run for his money anyday...with that awesome... technicality...

...

Well, I can't hear the playing at all, so I'll just assume he's not plugged in to anything.

Black_Star - February 17, 2010 09:08 PM (GMT)
Oh don't worry he's not actually playing the guitar.
Palm muted notes that low on the High E,B,G strings in the 15th-21st fret zone aha!
And then he does some poser "LOOK AT ME I CAN FINGER TAP" thing as he walks off feeling like a bad ass, but when he does that it just makes it more obvious that he's faking it!

What gets me is his thumb only picking technique...
It's godly and I think we should all start incorporating that into our playing

Wes Montgomery did a lot of jazz stuff with only his thumb. All his song using that technique sound great.

I've notice that Wayne was faking it as soon as I heard the palm muting and when he did tapping, the sound wasn't even a tapping sound.

Oh I agree about the tapping bit,
And pardon my ignorance about Wes Montgomery.
I've never really been into much Jazz myself.
I'll have to look that one up :)

Wes Montgomery was awesome with that thumb of his. Aparently he got that particular tone because his thumb had a wart on it.

LittleSavage - February 22, 2010 07:48 PM (GMT)
This one is funnier! He's not faking it he's just failing :)
Tuning the guitar would be a start ---- then LESSONS!

He needs to pull his trousers up and put down that strat. A total see you next tuesday.

Actually, I just remembered reading ages ago that Lil Wayne reportedly had guitar lessons from...

Kid Rock.

He surely wanted to keep an electric guitar to appear as more rebel. Maybe his boss told him.
