Anyone have experience with Kramer guitars?

I'm considering that guitar up there.

I've owned a few Kramers in my time. Gibson took Kramer over in 2002 I think and basically used the Kramer name to put out guitars like that which are all Korean or Indonesian made lower end models which bear little resemblance in terms of quality of the American or Jap made one's in the '80's/'90's, I say American but I think for a long time most Kramer parts especially the Nightswan ones were in fact built by ESP of Japan. It may be a decent enough guitar and would probably benefit from a pickup change to begin with.

I own one. The thing is I got it at Pawn shop and it's in bad shape. I'm trying to save up money to get a set up for it and replace the missing parts. I do like the fact that it's has a floyd with no floating bridge. So it makes it easy to change strings.

1980's Kramer Barretas were cool guitars. Be nice to get hold of one of those.

I'm also thinking of getting a kramer. I want a guitar with a maple fretboard and I'd use it for standard tuning since I hate having to spend 30 mins tuning my I-RG350. Does any one own one of the newer kramer models? I want to know if the lic. Floyd keeps tune.

That's a nice looking guitar but it ain't all about looks I'm afraid. That's an entry level guitar at best and the cheap price will reflect when you play it, hear it, try to keep it in tune etc. You get what you pay for in the guitar world. Best to look for one of the earlier ie Pre Gibson Kramer's. You will obviously pay more for it but you'll have a better guitar plus a 'real' Kramer as well.

if its not worth the price or at least considered better than a 300 series RG then ill just wait to get a RG 550 or 770. (I'm not a huge fan of their prestige line-up)

Nice guitars!!! Love the Purple colour. Those would be a step in the right direction. I still can't see them touching an early Ibanez 550 or 770 though.

I have never liked kramers, they had that vintage feel trying to be modern. They never left the 80s and the new stuff is just garbage. i played one recently (i can't remember what model) and i had to just put it down after a few quick licks. It just felt awful.
