When i was at college there was one twat who said Deans are the best guitars and he specifically said that only posers and emo bands play Ibanez...

I'm not sure about Deans cuz I've never tried one. But to say Ibanez is for emo bands wth. I do like Ibanez a lot. I jsut got mine fixed and plugged it into my cheap practice amp and I nearly cried because of the great sound.

Certainly not the most subtle method of advertising. I'm sure they make some decent guitars, namely the Vinnie Moore and Rusty Cooley sigs but those other horrifically shaped things with the terrible V headstocks are the sort of thing which gives rock/metal guitarists a bad name.

Ibanez are only played by poseurs and emo bands..? Try telling that to Steve Vai, Satch, Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons, Tony MacAlpine etc... ;)

Note: I'm not saying Dean make bad guitars. I just get annoyed by their marketing methods.

Basically they just use snob appeal arguments.
I kinda find it funny how proud they are.
But to think about, I bet there are a bunch of beginner guitarist who get persuaded by their slogan.
