Title: Messing With Your Guitar

malikshreds - January 20, 2010 12:28 AM (GMT)
What are the stupidest thing you ever did to your guitar?

I recently tried to intonate my guitar. I totally screwed up. I asked my teacher and he told me my guitar was perfectly fine and he fixed it for me. He also told me he tried to fix a strat when he was about 13 or 14 and completely messed it up. I learned from this experience. Never try to do something without asking a pro.

I remember when I was begginner and was changing string for first or 2nd time.

For some weird reason, the strings were breaking or were very very tensed and I was still one or two notes below the correct one(which i read on the net).
Then I realized....I had tuned the guitar a whole octave sharper than it whould be

Bought a new pack of strings and did it correctly :P

Adrian,
That remind of the time I thought I knew how to tune a guitar completely tuned it wrong. Glad my teacher corrected when I saw what I was doing.

Oh yeah about my guitar. It ends up I have to get the bridge moved up and then intonated. So I was on the right track. I might get this process done by a professional in about a month. i just got my floyd set up on my ibanez. Stupid cheap guitar >:(.
