For reals. Seen that one before, and that guy sure is fast.

I just hope he can keep his mind cool while writing songs. It just so happens that saddeningly many technical virtuosi ruin their songs with... technical virtosity.

Sort of turns guitar playing into an olympic sport - I certainly could not play that fast. Not really a good sounding version of that peice.

I wish his tone was better though.

:o

Oh crap you changed your avatar. I'm gonna have to get used to that. I didn't even realise it was you at first since i always identify ppl by their avatar.

:P

Anyway, cool technique but i would have no desire to ever play that fast tbh.

At 260bpm it starts sounding really fake to my ears...it sounds sped up. (Not to diminish the fact that playing that at 230 is still quite an achievement!)

Further to the point, I can't think of any musical situation where playing that fast would be useful.

Anyway, the guys name is Della Vega. His own music isn't all that bad actually.

I think it's all real; you can see that the guy behind him moves normally and the player's movements in general don't look suspicious at all.

Besides, I recall that guy holds (or at least used to hold) a Guinness world record for fastest playing, so I believe the clip's legit.

Speed is nothing without control ! remember that !

I guess speed is good, saw a Van Halen clip recently where EVH was saying that you have to make the guitar 'talk' - I know what he means, where you get what's in your head and heart out and it is just how you would say it or sing it if you could - make sense ??

I love Ronnie Le Tekro's stuff and his slower stuff is just so beautifully thought through, check out the very simple solo on 'Everyone's a Star' from 1987 - it is simple and perfect for that track, his 'machine gun' stuff on YOUTUBE is amazing but what is he saying?? that he has had too much caffeine ??
Stupid joke LOL. Check out his radio and T.V. interview stuff on YOUTUBE too, it is priceless, just sheer magic to watch ordinary everyday folks witness the most gifted of players do it so naturally. I thought one interviewer was going to faint with ecstasy.
