Title: Help Keep This Site Going

neoshredder - October 4, 2009 12:27 AM (GMT)
I'm hoping that some of the posters here can think of more ideas of things to post about. I'm sure you are very eager in real life to music. Hope you bring it here. I'm very proud of being the only site that is dedicated to neoclassical metal. I'd hate for it to die out. Yes I admit I'm not always eager to post but I'll try my best to think of more stuff.

Steve5513 - October 4, 2009 09:49 AM (GMT)
Seconded :P

IbanezDaemon - October 4, 2009 11:11 AM (GMT)
The site won't die off. Okay we may be only a small site thus far but there are dedicated members here. It's still going along nicely but I do agree that we could do with more activity. The potential topics are endless. I think we could do with more song/album reviews. New gear coming out as well may for interesting topics. There are lots more shredders out there that the standard old school guys. Just check Guitar Nine Records for instance. We could do with more polls as well. They usually arouse interest.

IbanezDaemon - October 4, 2009 01:13 PM (GMT)
I've always thought a Classifieds section would work here. Not only could you buy and sell stuff but you could also trade gear as well. The section would also cater for members posting potential bargains that they see on ebay that may be of interest to people here.Members would also be able to post threads of gear that they are on the lookout for in hope that someone may come across it online. It works on other sites. I've traded successfully on Jemsite etc.

I WANT TO BUY YOUR GUITARS!!! SELL THEM TO ME!!!

hahaha, solid ideas ID. Just make sure there are huge disclaimers on the classifieds

Totally agree dude. All trading would be done at members' own risk. I think we have a good idea who the regulars are here. I think you said before ac/dc that it would be a good idea that if you were to sell or buy on here you would have to have a decent amount of posts to your name, at least 200-300. That's a great idea. Unlike Jemsite where I see guys putting up ads for expensive gear with only a couple of posts.

Steve5513 - October 4, 2009 06:39 PM (GMT)
A posting limit for trading should be 50-100 posts imo. Just restrict access to it until that time.

malikshreds - October 12, 2009 08:13 PM (GMT)
I guess if we get some well-known guitarist to check out this site.

Maybe someone could inform Tom Hess on this website.

Muramasa - October 12, 2009 10:36 PM (GMT)
Adding a trade section cannot be bad, but I think the forum should not be infested by too much pop-ups and disturbing stuff like that, or slowered.

Even if its not too many people, its a question about quality and not quantity. For exemple, there is plenty of theory resources and tips here...

Little people know there is a neoclassiclal metal forum, I wonder how to keep in touch with more people without sending them mails they may not want to read.

In some moment I thought about creating sections of non-english speakers, like some other forums. Even if you know only a little about other languages, communication is possible. I would like to help doing that. If you think its OK, lets talk about that.

I only post in two forums, dont use facebook, msn, cellphone or things like that, but even added a pic of my face here -a think I never do in any page- due to the cordial ambience here. That is, I wouldn not change too many things, only adding new ones. Ah, sorry for weird english here, and for the pic hehehehe...

neoshredder - October 13, 2009 12:36 AM (GMT)
Well I just posted a bulletin on my myspace over here. http://www.myspace.com/neoclassicalfusion I got 8,324 friends so some should come soon hopefully.

Muramasa - October 20, 2009 01:22 PM (GMT)
I suppose this talk continued by private messages, because it stopped suddenly.

A pity.

:o

No. We're still looking for ideas and ways to promote the site. I left a pile of comments on youtube yesterday on various vids in the hope that someone will see them. I posted one message, copied it, then just kept pasting it to save time. I must have left over 100 comments I think. :D

Muramasa - October 26, 2009 02:39 PM (GMT)
That was a good idea indeed (it surely took some time for you).

But please, if you consideer adding new windows so the people can communicate in other languages, make me know. I think that would bring new people to the forum who occasionally could speak english, as well as people here could try to speak other languages too. The more people/countries, the more different things to discuss.

What can be bad about that?

neoshredder - December 21, 2009 06:00 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't know how to set up the multiple languages idea. It is as simple as adding a forum and labeling it "Other Languages"? And I'm getting concerned again with the lack of activity lately. My fault as well though. I'll work hard to keep this site going.

Acousolysis - December 21, 2009 10:07 AM (GMT)
There's not much to worry about, neoshredder. The regulars here seem to be pretty devoted, even though conversation's not non-stoppable here.

Steve5513 - December 21, 2009 02:58 PM (GMT)
I agree with Acousolysis.

The regulars here are devoted to the site and want it to keep going like you. It's just that every once in a while the conversation dies down a bit. I don't think it's too much to worry about since the regulars keep coming back.

ilikeguitar - April 20, 2010 11:39 PM (GMT)
i post ALOT lol cuz im a neo-classical noob

neoshredder - April 21, 2010 12:04 AM (GMT)
Being new to Neo-Classical Metal is good. Good to ask a lot of questions and keep us members active. :D

Steve5513 - April 21, 2010 12:54 AM (GMT)
He's right :D

Money4Love - June 9, 2010 02:26 PM (GMT)

malikshreds - June 20, 2010 11:35 PM (GMT)
I second that!

Can you set it up? Or someone who knows facebook well.

ImitationSHREDder - July 10, 2010 07:29 AM (GMT)
Yea I'm sure that there are alot of people into this style of music or at least influenced by it. We should all tell our fellow metal heads to join up. Thanks to this site i understand some musical theory and have learned great licks and bands. I agree with ID we should have a classified section for buying/selling guitars.

Steve5513 - August 5, 2010 09:40 PM (GMT)
Just tell your friends about it in real life, add links to it in signatures on other websites, tell people about it online if you think they would be interested.

EDIT: Maybe you could add a new section in the website for forum games?

IbanezDaemon - August 5, 2010 11:18 PM (GMT)
Guys thanks for the input. We'll certainly keep the site going and the suggestions you have made will be taken into consideration. I'd love to see a Classifieds section going but remember all deals would be at your own risk but I'm sure we trust each other.

We may only be a small site but we have dedicated posters and I consider you guys on here to be my friends. It's good to see the new members (you know who you are) on here that have actively participated on the site and breathed new life into the Forum.

A few posts per day on average from each of you is all it's gonna take to keep us up and running. I think that I can speak for NeoShredder and our Moderator AC/DC as well here and assure that we won't let this site go.

I'm actually thinking of running a small competition on here soon as well so watch this space,

Thanks guys!!! :D

ImitationSHREDder - August 7, 2010 02:06 AM (GMT)
Sweet I got a hold of a compu for a bit. I don't have a guitar here though so I Am Not A Happy Camper, (or surfer in this case). Anyway i love the ideas ID.

ImitationSHREDder - August 20, 2010 03:45 AM (GMT)
Also if you are gonna add a sales section you could add a "heads-up" section where people can post good deals on guitars and equipment like craigslist and stuff. I'm on there ALL the time and I wouldn't mind sharing the links of really good guitars that i can't afford to other people who have more $$$$ than me. (basically you just need 100$ bucks and you win) :P

Thomo - September 12, 2010 08:42 PM (GMT)
I'd Happily start a page on Facebook if it has not been done already, and get other larger music pages to advertise it on theirs?

Go for it dude!

That would be great Thomo, if you can get time to do it I'm sure it would help. The more we can get the word out on the site the better!

Thomo - September 12, 2010 10:00 PM (GMT)
the page is up and you can see it here

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Neo-Classica...38665979?ref=ts

if you tell me what information you would like on the page, i will add it tomorrow when i'm home from college. Or another option is for the sites Admins to join the group so I can make them the Admins of the facebook page. whihcever is easier.

Thomo

IbanezDaemon - September 15, 2010 10:07 PM (GMT)
Excellent Thomo. Thanks very much. I'll give you some info on the site tomorrow that you can use on the Facebook page. Cheers!! :D

IbanezDaemon - September 18, 2010 03:44 PM (GMT)
