Title: Selling music on Itunes

Something i want to do (Later on in the waaaaaay distant future) is put an album on Itunes. The only way to do this is through services such as CDbaby or tunecore, anyone have knowledge or experience of any of these services? I think CDbaby looks best because they will sell actual CD's aswell as digital distribution.

Could someone theoretically make a living out of this?

Theoretically yes, but it would take years of promotion and releases, and building up a fanbase, to realistically make a living out of it.

If you're putting out a physical CD, then CDBaby is definitely your best option. Just send the CD, pay the setup fee, and they take care of the rest.

Tunecore seems good if youre going digital-only. I went with Reverbnation myself, and I've had no problems.

The one thing CDbaby has over the others as far as digital sales go, is that you only pay a one-time fee, and then they take off a percentage off your sales. For the others, you pay yearly fee, regardless of how much you sell. So if you don't sell much, then you end up losing money.
