Title: Martial Arts
Shizknight - January 17, 2008 12:55 PM (GMT)
One thing I've noticed is that people who like neoclassical metal have a lot of the same interests - I for one am very into Martial Arts. I practice Wing Chun Kung Fu. One of the training methods I do for Wing Chun is push ups on my finger tips, and after a few weeks I've noticed I have quite a bit more stamina for playing the guitar as well. If you practice any form of Martial Arts please reply!

I don't do martial arts... but to contribute to the thread, I can tell you that I did Karate when I was like 5... for like a couple weeks, i don't even remember it was for such a short time, and so long ago. I just carry a gun around now... just kidding :P

I did karate for 4 and a half years back in elementary school and junior high. Got up to blue (later changed to red) belt, the order being white, yellow, orange, green, blue, then brown and black.

I watched a couple of Wing Chun Kung Fu lessons on youtube, and i've seen loads of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee movies... so yes, i am quite the master in martial arts.

I have a black belt in Jeet Kune Do. Very observant Steve. I have also trained extensively on those Wing Chun dummies. I like the spiritual side of martial arts best though. I don't like fighting.

I took karate classes for awhile didn't really care for it then i went to study Hung Gar kung fu which was really good.I liked the school because they were open 7 days a week had different classes which included kickboxing the instructor was very good and the advanced students didn't pick on or make fun of the new students...which is something i went through with the karate school.

I used to do a lesser-known art from Korea, Chung Do Mu Sool Won at a smaller school here, but the curriculum went to hell, taking most of the things that drew me to the school initially with it. I've gotten more out of the teachings on inner stability than I have from the fighting, but I'd like to go back and get myself back in gear to get the black belt.

I have had some injuries so I actually don't practise, but I am thinking about doing Karate again... I also took some Kendo and Iaido classes.
Some problems in my left wrist made me quit: I wanted to play guitar too. Anyway, I still practise alone when my wrist don't hurt.
I like M.A, but unfortunately injuries make it hard to combine with guitar playing, specially in Kendo because it focuses on wrists.
It's a pain when you can't play guitar, and I've "tasted" that pain several times...

I did Lau Gar Kung Fu for about 5 or 6 years, but it came to a point where I had to choose between Kung Fu and Guitar playing because I only had the time to do one to a high standard.

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a complete the true art of self-defense and combat. Wing Chun Kung Fu style is truly amazing and beautiful kung fu. This is one of a practical system of martial arts can be learned. Wing Chun Kung Fu is based on biomechanics and Chun force.Wing first use of the steering angle for the same time coordinate attacks.
